Quick Easy Home Made Yoghurt

Super Easy home made Yogurt Yogurt is great for breakfast, healthy snacks, lunches, with desserts and fantastic with curries. I have used this very simple way to make yogurt for years now and it comes out great every time. I use a wooden yogurt maker that is really just a box with a light in it or you could use a wide mouthed thermos, a hot water cupboard or your slow cooker or turn your oven on low, then turn it off and leave the yogurt overnight. In summer I put outside wrapped a towel (as light will destroy some vitamin content) and just leave until set. How To: Bring one pint (600 ml) of milk to the boil, cool until it is just lukewarm. Add 2 Tablespoons of plain yogurt from the store - make sure it is plain yogurt with the live culture in it and not fruit mix or anything else. Best to buy a slightly more expensive purer yogurt as you can use it quite a while to make several batches. Stir to disperse evenly and pour into a clean, sterilized container or glass jar. If you p

Recipe for Quick & Easy Breakfast Cereal - Home Made Granola

Quick and easy to make breakfast cereal that tastes delicious and can also be a base for a home made Granola bread (I will post in the future) We make this quite often and it makes 2 large preserving jars (or 6 1/2 cups) and is great with yogurt, cream if you wish or milk and we also like it with fruit for dessert. Recipe 2 & 1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats 1 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds 1/2 cup sesame seed 1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds 1/2 cup wheatgerm 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup cooking oil 1/2 cup dried apricots chopped 1/2 cup raisins Method In a large bowl combine rolled oats, coconut, almonds, sesame seeds & wheatgerm. Combine honey & oil Stir into oat mixture Spread out only a pan Bake in a 300 degree oven until a light golden brown - should take around 45 - 50 mins.
